System requirements:

Information for your IT-Department:

1. Connections are made to www.nutrium.se, server.nutrium.se and 81.94.162.28.
2. The jnlp and jar files used should not be cached, but managed by Java Webstart and a cache on the local computer.
3. Communication is via HTTP on port 80 and HTTPS on port 443 with HTTP 1.1 (HTTP 1.0 is simulated for best compatibility with proxy servers).
4. The first time Nutrium is started, a certificate signed by Nutrium must be accepted in order for the program to run correctly.

This is a first take on the requirements.

Server requirements:

1. Linux or Windows server
2. MySQL server
3. Tomcat [1]
4. Java needed

After the operating system is installed, the following requirements needs to be met:

Specifications:

1. RAM: At least 2 GB free space
2. Disk: At least 10GB free space
3. Firewall opened for access by remote host (on our network) to port 443 (HTTPS)
4. HTTPS certificate (and a DNS record for the machine) for the application download (the client will download from the server)
5. Firewall opening to se:443 for statistics uploading and quality assurance.

Other requirements:

1. Backup: you will handle the backups.
2. Updates: you will handle the updates of everything except the application
3. Logfiles will be stored in local text files
4. There will be no integration with AD or LDAP at this stage

If you prefer, we would not mind having the MySQL server separate if that makes backups and auditing easier for you. All sensitive data is stored in the DB. The application server itself only needs backups once in a while to be easier to set up again.

[1] Tomcat needs to be set up with the certificates for HTTPS and running on port 443, or a reverse proxy (Apache/Nginx/IIS) installed and configured.

Nutrium requires either Java or AdoptOpenJDK8 to run. Some versions of Java can cost money while AdoptOpenJDK8 is free. Please see next tab for how to install AdoptOpenJDK8.

How to install AdoptOpenJDK8 and run Nutrium

The instructions are for Windows 10.

Download AdoptOpenJDK8

Go to https://adoptopenjdk.net/

Under “Download for Windows x64”:

1. Choose a version: OpenJDK 8 (LTS)
2. Choose a JVM: HotSpot

Click the button “Latest release”, save the file (.msi).

Install AdoptOpenJDK8

Run the install file you just downloaded.

At step “Custom Setup”, enable “IcedTea-Web” (which includes Java Web Start).

Start Nutrium

Go to www.nutrium.se, and start Nutrium via the link/button “Starta Nutrium” (jnlp-file will be downloaded)

Run the downloaded file, nutrium-sv_SE.jnlp , by right-clicking and selecting “Open with…” in the menu.

Click “More apps”, then scroll to the bottom and click “Look for another app on this PC”.

The path to AdoptOpenJDK8 Java Web Start depends on where the user chose to install it, and the exact version that was downloaded, but should be something like:

C:Program FilesAdoptOpenJDKjdk-8.0.232.09-hotspotbinjavaws.exe

The last part, binjavaws.exe, should be the same.

Now, Nutrium should start.

There might be a warning when starting:
